Here is a stunning pastel on heavy paper, signed Modigliani 1918 right side. This is an original, one of a kind. It has the inscription “J” in the lower left; probably refers to artists wife Jeanne Hebuterne. Shipped flat on wood board.
This painting does not have authentication by the Modigliani Foundation. Sold as “attributed to Modigliani.” That is reflected in my pricing. I have collected 50 years. This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever come across.
Jeanne Hebuterne, Modigliani’s wife can be found on Wikipedia and was the subject of many of Modigliani’s famous works.
included:
(1)A signed Provenance document on letterhead stationary from son who inherited from father in the British government.
(2)A COA as attributed to Modigliani by an pHD, Art Historian, consultant.
(3)A copy of a letter from the British government dated 1955. Letter acknowledges an attempt from the owner to return art he had in his possession that was from forced seizures between 1933-1945. This piece was part of that collection as verified by the Provenance doc.
(4)A COA from a forensic autograph expert on the Modigliani signature.
All paperwork are the opinions of the writers.
